Jordan Raynor: Master of One
Thursday Jan 30, 2020
Thursday Jan 30, 2020
Have you ever wondered, “How do I find my purpose? How do I narrow down the things I’m good at and find the one thing that’s my true gift?” At Redefining Wealth, we’re all about chasing purpose, not money. In fact it’s our tagline.
But struggling to find your purpose is indeed a major problem for most people, and when you don’t know what your purpose is, you end up going in a bunch of different directions and never fully committing to any of them.
In today’s episode, I invited Jordan Raynor, author of Master of One, to share his story and what he’s learned about the process of narrowing down multiple passions to focus on true mastery and how excellence comes from that initial step of finding and cultivating your purpose.
As we dive in, Jordan talks about how he was always the “Jack of all trades, and master of none,” and how he had to shift his thinking so he didn’t end up living in mediocrity – in the “master of none” space. Join us as we discuss how to find your purpose, how to pivot your purpose as needed and how to embrace excellence and mastery in the thing that you’ve chosen.
This episode is brought to you by our complimentary Purpose Chasers community. Want to share your aha moments with a group of like-minded purpose chasers from all over the world? Visit iamapurposechaser.com and join NOW.

Princeton Parker: Can’t Protect from Process
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Thursday Jan 23, 2020
Have you ever thought, “If I were a different version of myself – thinner, richer, more successful – then I would have a fairer shot at life”?
Truth is: Many of us do. Sadly, it’s not a story that’s unfamiliar to us.
Princeton Parker points out in today’s episode, the story of the Prodigal Son. The son who does not just leave his home, but he leaves a version of himself in pursuit of a different version of himself only to discover that there was nothing wrong with who he was before he left home.
He has to lose everything he thought he wanted in order to realize he needed none of it.
Join us as we unpack the story of the Prodigal Son, bringing emotional health and psychology into the mix, while looking at those things through the lens of the prodigal son’s father.

Can’t Protect from Process Takeaways
Growing up and maturing isn’t about becoming someone different; it’s about realizing there was nothing wrong with you in the first place. – Princeton Parker
Reclaim the identity you gave up in search of what you felt like you needed to be. – Princeton Parker
We think we know what inheritance means because we’re able to see reward without responsibility and promise without purpose. – Princeton Parker
If I loved myself, I would know that I was enough. – Princeton Parker
I can’t “okay” you leaving until I “okay” the life that I have without you. – Princeton Parker
The hardest thing to break up with are our own expectations. – Princeton Parker
The same faith that gives you the strength to hold on should be the same faith that gives you the strength to let go. – Princeton Parker
When we release someone from our lives– a child, a partner, an employee – we have to trust in that decision and in that process. Like the prodigal son’s father letting him go, the father had to trust and accept his son would experience more than he could give him through words alone.

Tanisha Lyons-Porter: Functional Over Fictional
Thursday Jan 16, 2020
Thursday Jan 16, 2020
Where do you rank on the organized-disorganized spectrum? Many of us rank somewhere in the middle – not completely disorganized, but not 100% organized either. That’s why so many people set New Year’s resolutions to declutter their home.
But at Redefining Wealth, we’re not about resolutions, we’re about results, and that’s why I’ve invited Tanisha Lyons Porter to join us today. Tanisha is a professional organizer and has been organizing spaces since she was a child. In addition to working one-on-one with clients, Tanisha teaches several organizing workshops across Southern California, and her signature event – Sort n Sip with Tanisha Porter – is a hands-on organizing workshop that erases the dread of decluttering with food, fun and socializing.
So, if you’re trying to declutter this new year but you’re overwhelmed, this is an episode you don’t want to miss. Inside, we’re covering everything from practical steps for decluttering and making it a consistent habit to what the difference is between organizing a space versus cleaning a space.
This episode is brought to you by our complimentary Purpose Chasers community. Want to share your aha moments with a group of like-minded people from all over the world? Visit iamapurposechaser.com and join NOW.
Natural Born Organizer Takeaways
Clutter is the physical manifestation of chaos in your mind. – Patrice Washington
Organization is not about perfection, it’s about finding systems and methods that line up with how you and your family operate. – Tanisha Lyons Porter
Being organized is about being able to find what you need, when you need it – it’s not about being Pinterest perfect. – Tanisha Lyons Porter
The average American spends 76 hours a year looking for things they already own but can never find. – Patrice Washington
When it comes to getting rid of clutter, create a consistent routine rather than an organizing event or marathon. – Tanisha Lyons Porter
Keeping clothes in your closet that don’t fit is like keeping mean girlfriends around because you don’t like to be alone. – Tanisha Lyons Porter

Tonya Dalton: The Joy of Missing Out
Thursday Jan 09, 2020
Thursday Jan 09, 2020
Are you the type of person who goes to bed thinking, “I didn’t do enough today,” “I didn’t accomplish all the things I had on my to-do list and I feel awful about it”? Too often, this is how we end our day, and it’s how we wake up the next day.
But here’s the thing, feeling bad about yourself for not being as productive as you wanted to be doesn’t serve you. And it certainly isn’t going to boost your productivity because who’s going to be more productive when they feel like they’ve been bad?
In today’s episode, I sit down with Tonya Dalton, author of The Joy of Missing Out and founder of inkWELL Press Productivity Co., a company centered around productivity tools and training, to dive further into this topic of to-do lists and priorities and how most of the things we check off our lists just leave us feeling incomplete and unhappy.
This episode is brought to you by our complimentary Purpose Chasers community. Want to share your aha moments with a group of like-minded purpose chasers from all over the world? Visit iamapurposechaser.com and join NOW.
The Joy of Missing Out Takeaways
So often we think life is meant to be endured, when truly it’s meant to be enjoyed. – Tonya Dalton
We’re so busy chasing busy that we don’t give ourselves a chance to inhale so that we can exhale. – Tonya Dalton
Give yourself permission to take back your power and choose what actually matters to you. – Patrice Washington
We’re so busy people pleasing that we put ourselves at the very bottom of our own people-pleasing list. – Tonya Dalton
We can’t shine our light on other people if our batteries always need recharging. – Tonya Dalton
Self-care is not about spa days and pedicures; it’s about filling up your soul, not your calendar. – Tonya Dalton
Quiet your soul – only then will you be able to see where God is pulling you. – Tonya Dalton
When it comes to living that go-go-go lifestyle, it’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of it and think that productivity should outweigh our happiness. But that’s just not true – your happiness is more important than checking off a bunch of meaningless tasks.
So I invite you to think about how you’re living each day. Are you checking off tasks that are truly important to you or are you checking off tasks and creating lists that are meaningless to your purpose?
Redefining Wealth Rapid Wisdom Questions
And with that, let’s dig into Tonya’s responses to our Redefining Wealth Rapid Wisdom Questions.

Koya Webb: Your Rituals Create Your Results
Thursday Jan 02, 2020
Thursday Jan 02, 2020
Why is a morning routine important? How do you start one and what do you include? Is it just a morning meditation or can your routine include meditation, breakfast, going to the gym, journaling, etc.?
In today’s episode, we’re kicking off 2020 with our Results NOT Resolutions series and I’ve invited Koya Webb, founder of Get Loved Up, an international lifestyle community and Yoga School, and author of Let Your Fears Make You Fierce, to share how she uses rituals to manifest results in her life.
Koya is an internationally recognized yoga teacher, celebrity holistic health coach, author, speaker and vegan activist whose core mission is to promote daily self-care, oneness and eco-friendly living to combat some of the world’s biggest challenges including mental health, social injustices and global warming.
Part of Koya’s message is if you’re serious about getting results and manifesting what it is you say you want, then you have to commit. You have to consistently –day-in, day-out – show up and do the work.
Now, let’s dive in as Koya and I discuss this and more!
This episode is brought to you by Purpose 2 Platform, my hands on business accelerator that gives spirit-led women the strategy to create more impact, influence and income with integrity. Schedule a call to see if I’m the coach for you!
Rituals Create Your Results Takeaways
Gratitude is the number one key to keeping us in alignment with love. – Koya Webb
Expressing gratitude takes you out of victim mentality and puts you into that creator mentality. – Koya Webb
Whenever you find yourself in any type of emotion that’s not love, happiness, joy or abundance, that’s fear. – Koya Webb
Fear is feedback. When fear comes up, it’s telling you there’s a place within you that needs more love and attention. – Koya Webb
I want you to see the person who offended you on a stage, for example, and imagine a bunch of good things happening to them. – Koya Webb
When I know better, I have to do better and if I don’t, then I’m part of the problem. – Koya Webb
Do you have a morning routine? Do you practice gratitude? One of the big hesitations people have around setting a routine is that they won’t commit to it every day.
Discipline is not a punishment and it’s not perfection. If you’re just starting out, try to do one thing to process your emotions – practice gratitude, journaling, going for a walk, meditating, and so on. Do one thing that brings you joy and then build on it.

And with that, let’s dig into Koya’s responses to our Redefining Wealth Rapid Wisdom Questions.

Growing Over Winning: A Recap of 2019
Thursday Dec 26, 2019
Thursday Dec 26, 2019
If you’re feeling like you’ve missed the mark this year or you didn’t accomplish everything you wanted to, then this episode is for you. This week we’re shifting how we reflect on wins and accomplishments, and celebrating the process and steps to those wins just as much as the wins themselves.
Many of us look to Instagram or to our Facebook memories to try to piece together the wins and milestones of the year, but we often forget the small steps and work that was needed to achieve those things.
I use journaling, not only as a powerful manifestation tool, but also as a reminder of the process to whatever goal I’ve set for myself. Journaling, for me, is not about keeping a diary, it’s about understanding how to unlock more of the things I say I want and heal the things that come up in the process.
This episode is brought to you by Rachel Luna and the Faith Activated Journaling Experience, which is a year-long experience that teaches you how to stop wasting your time and so you can manifest MASSIVE results through journaling.
You’ll discover how to unlock your blessings, author the life of your dreams and create rapid results in just 5 minutes a day.
If you want to up level your game and GROW in the 6 pillars of Wealth, check out Faith Activated by going to PatriceWashington.com/FaithActivated.
Growing Over Winning Takeaways
Journaling gives me an accurate depiction of my growth or lack thereof. – Patrice Washington
You don’t have to be completely out of debt to acknowledge the win of shifting your money mindset. – Patrice Washington
You don’t have to drop 100 pounds to acknowledge that you’ve been plant-based for the last five days and feel great. – Patrice Washington
I was settling for what had been good – that comfort zone – instead of going after what God was showing me. – Patrice Washington
The growth is in the mindset. It’s not something I can check off my list. It’s who I’ve become in the process. – Patrice Washington
Give yourself grace and acknowledge your growth. – Patrice Washington
As you move into 2020, I encourage you to celebrate your wins – big and small – and reflect on your growth. You’re moving forward, so celebrate it.
If you’re stuck thinking, “It’s never good enough,” you’re going to stay stuck another year, and that’s not what I want for you. So bask in the glory of your wins and share them with us!

Stop Romanticizing Relationships
Thursday Dec 19, 2019
Thursday Dec 19, 2019
Have you ever been in a relationship with someone – personal or professional – where the connection doesn’t feel fully aligned, and it makes you a little uneasy, but you ignore it? In most cases, we figure it’s just us, right? Or, that we’re merely reading too much into a given situation or exchange.
Well, this week I’m here to tell you: Don’t ignore those gut feelings you have and stop romanticizing relationships – current and expired ones.
For me, this topic hits close to home because I recently tried to justify accepting behavior that was not in alignment with my core values. It was one of those, “Well, I know that’s how so-and-so treats other people, but with me, it’s different.”
Reality is, IT’S NOT! It’s easy to romanticize and believe that it is, but the thing is, their treatment of others is a direct reflection of who they are and you are not exempt from experiencing this.
Join me as I share more on this topic and provide actionable steps you can take to untie and end relationships that are out of integrity with your values.
Podcasts are one of the fasting growing mediums for reaching an ideal audience – an audience that’s really listening. So when it comes to ads, you can rest assured they’re not tuning out the noise like they do when radio commercials come on.
If you’re a solopreneur and/or small business owner who needs help amplifying your message and reaching the masses, we’re accepting podcast ad applications!

Romanticizing Relationships Takeaways
“When people show you who they are, believe them.” – Maya Angelou
Every time I have veered off the path from my core values, I have suffered. – Patrice Washington
Know that how you show up behind closed doors – when no one else can see or hear you – that’s the true you. – Patrice Washington
Move forward with a quiet confidence because insecurity is so loud. – Patrice Washington
People matter and the minute you stop acting like they do, you threaten your own chance of having the wealth and life you desire. – Patrice Washington
Treat people well, operate in integrity, preserve your relationships and when a season is up, untie. – Patrice Washington
Do you have any relationships you need to untie and walk away from before the end of the decade? If you do, now is the time to untie them and move on.

Tela Holcomb: Stocks Made Simple
Thursday Dec 12, 2019
Thursday Dec 12, 2019
How much do you REALLY know about investing in the stock market? Honestly, do your eyes glaze over as you hear words like valuation, dividend, index fund and margin?
Listen, I know the stock market can be overwhelming, even for those who know the basics, so that’s why I’ve invited Tela Holcomb, creator of Trade Your 9-to-5™, to put stocks and investments into plain English.
After Tela’s corporate career ended abruptly in 2012, it forced her to use the stock market knowledge she had to make a living – and boy did she. By 2013, just eight months after being fired from her good-paying job, she’d doubled her retirement account and found the key to financial freedom in the stock market.
In today’s episode, Tela shares her top investing tips. We discuss the difference between investing and trading, what an average day looks like for her and how she’s using her stock market knowledge to help others achieve financial freedom and leave their 9-to-5.
Remember, you or someone you know can showcase their product or service on the podcast! Podcasts are one of the fasting growing mediums for reaching your ideal audience. An audience that’s really listening – not tuning out the noise like they do when radio commercials come on. If you’re a solopreneur and/or small business owner who needs help amplifying your message and reaching the masses, we're accepting podcast applications! Find out more at patricewashington.com/podcastads.

I need a stock to show me it’s worth my time and money before I bring it home with me. – Tela Holcomb
I practiced investing for eight months BEFORE I put real money into the market. – Tela Holcomb
Don’t believe the hype … you do NOT need a lot of money to start investing in the stock market. – Tela Holcomb
Investing is something that can feed you for a lifetime, so it’s worth putting in the time and effort to get it right. – Tela Holcomb

Are you living your best life? Sadly, most people aren’t because they’re in a constant cycle of overconsumption and indebtedness, and mindlessly spending on things that don’t add value to their life or purpose. Today’s guest was once in that exact spot.
Jason Vitug, author of You Only Live Once, remembers how the path to success was drilled into him growing up. It’s the same path we’re all told to follow – graduate high school, go to college, get a job, get a car, get a promotion, buy a house – pretty standard, and oftentimes simply achieving these things doesn’t make us happy. For Jason, he started on this path and then began to question it, asking, “When do I actually become happy?”
It’s this realization coupled with the concept of YOLO in reverse that became the topic for his book. In You Only Live Once, Jason applies YOLO to personal finance and discovers it’s not about instant gratification, but rather about long-term satisfaction.
Listen in and learn how you can shift your money mindset and experience YOLO today and for years to come.
