Teneshia Jackson Warner: Commit to the Finish Line
Thursday Oct 08, 2020
Thursday Oct 08, 2020
With so much going on the world, I have to acknowledge the fact that people are being stretched. Between finances, mental health, physical health, and personal challenges, we have been forced to stretch ourselves beyond our comfort zones, expand our thinking and open our minds in order to find a new normal.
Some of us are embracing the stretch voluntarily, while others are trying to run away from the stretch. But although this season of growth is inevitable, we all need the tools and capacity to move through the stretch with grace and maximize the time we have remaining this year.
One of today’s most effective coaches for entrepreneurs, Teneshia Jackson Warner is the perfect person to help you stretch yourself and make your 2020 goals come true.
She is the founder and CEO of the multicultural marketing firm, EGAMI Group, Creator of The Dream Project, and Author of The Big Stretch: 90 Days to Expand Your Dreams, Crush Your Goals, and Create Your Own Success.
In today’s episode, Teneshia walks us through a “career workout” routine designed to move you from idea to goal and commit to the finish line.
First, you’ll learn what type of dreamer you are: Hobby, Career, Make-It-Happen, Activist, or CEO. Based on that, you will discover your Dreamer's Risk Tolerance and understand your Dreamer's Ancestry to help gauge how much time, support, and resources you can apply toward your Stretch goal.
Key discussion points from this episode include:
How The Dream Project became a book - 9:55
Starting the Race to Finish Strong - 12:05
How To Get Through Moments When You Question Your Dream - 20:30
The Five Types of Dreamers - 25:59
The Four Phases to The Big Stretch and Manifesting Your Dream - 33:00
This episode is brought to you by my new book, Redefine Wealth for Yourself. We have compiled the greatest lessons and exercises that we’ve learned on the Redefining Wealth Podcast to bring you the ultimate guide to redefine wealth for yourself.

What’s Still Possible?
Thursday Oct 01, 2020
Thursday Oct 01, 2020
What if what you’ve been hoping for relies on your perseverance? What if you could accomplish your goals in the next 90 days? Instead of waiting for 2021, what if you started today to shift and adapt to the behaviors that support you the most?
Last week we ended our “Faith Works” series and I hope and pray that it helped prepare you spiritually to fight through what’s in store. I know that my faith is a testament to my ability to persevere, and with approximately 12 weeks left in the year, it’s time for us to use this fourth quarter to finish what we started.
After collectively dealing with so many hardships, now is the time to go all-in on our goals. While many of us may have to play catch, it’s important for all of us to acknowledge that 2020 is not cancelled and this pandemic has not postponed our purpose.
In this next quarter you can’t fight for lack or scarcity. You have to be willing to shift your perspective, fight for abundance, seek gratitude, and fight to believe that even in the midst of a pandemic - all things will work together for your good.
I believe that in this quarter the time will be collapsed for those of us who are focused, disciplined and intentional; but you have to have an expectation for what you want to create.
In this episode, I want to give you three things to consider regarding what’s still possible for you this year:
Covid did not change the call on your life - 05:53
You actually have more time than you think - 15:42
Provision has never been a problem in God’s economy - 19:20

Anniversary Episode: My Prayer For You
Thursday Sep 10, 2020
Thursday Sep 10, 2020
Today we celebrate three amazing years here at Redefining Wealth! We launched this podcast on September 14, 2017, and now, 165 episodes later, we continue in our mission to teach this generation that wealth is not merely about money or material possessions, but that wealth is truly the condition of well-being.
Three years ago, I had no idea we would be where we are today and I am so grateful and humbled that you have chosen to join me on this purpose chasing journey. My word for this year has been obedience, and I accept that with influence comes responsibility. So, while I was contemplating my plans to celebrate this anniversary episode, I felt God leading me to pray for Purpose Chasers.
I consider myself to be spirit-led and I know that any measure of success that you believe I have has come from my prayer life. My confidence, discipline, and the clarity that I share is not out of my own strength, but the time that I commit to prayer. I pray for you all of the time, but today you will audibly hear me do it, as this anniversary episode is dedicated to you.
Whether you are a believer or not, I ask that you open your heart and mind to accept the words I have to share with you in prayer. I pray that you can receive my heart and that you understand the gratitude I have for you joining me this far.
If you would like a printed version of each prayer to add to your prayer closet, we have a printable version for you at Patricewashington.com/prayer

Trent Shelton: Running From Reality
Thursday Sep 03, 2020
Thursday Sep 03, 2020
It’s our Anniversary Eve episode! Next week will be our three year anniversary here at Redefining Wealth, which means we are celebrating three years of teaching you that wealth is so much more than money and material possessions.
Here in this community, we believe in the original definition of wealth – the condition of well being. In order for us to achieve overall well-being, we first need to acknowledge our current reality and stop suppressing past shame and pain. A man who does this well is Trent Shelton, a father, transformational speaker and former NFL wide receiver.
He is the poster child for turning pain into purpose and he is truly living a genuine and authentic life. He says, “it’s time to stop running from reality”. Sharing with us his devastating journey in the NFL, Trent teaches us how to tackle our trials and stop suppression from leading to depression.
When we pursue purpose, sometimes our plans are not God’s plans. This is exactly what Trent discovered as God led him away from what he thought was his purpose (football), into what God truly had planned for him (speaking). For this reason, Trent believes “purpose is the wealthiest thing we can have”, and it’s no coincidence that our motto here at Redefining Wealth is to “chase purpose, not money”.
Learning this lesson early on changed my life and I invite you to join us as we go further into this conversation and closer to our ideal lifestyle of wealth and well being. I believe Trent Shelton is one of the most prolific inspirational speakers of our time and I can’t wait for you to hear what he shares in today’s episode.
This episode is brought to you by Command the Stage, A 2-Day Intimate Training Created for the Next Generation of Transformational Speakers Who Desire to Confidently Communicate the Message they’ve Been Called to Share with the Masses.

Running From Reality Takeaways
“When I speak I want to make my words matter.” - Trent Shelton
“When the purpose is big enough, the struggle or any fear will never be great enough.” - Trent Shelton
“I have a purpose greater than the pain I experienced.” - Trent Shelton
“Oftentimes, our plans have to fail so God’s purpose in our life can prevail.” - Trent Shelton
“Never let people place their impossibilities on your life.” - Trent Shelton
“Faith isn’t believing because you see it, it’s believing it because you know God has called you to do it.” - Trent Shelton
“Never feel guilty for cutting someone off when they handed you the scissors.” - Trent Shelton
“I don’t ever want to be a public success and private failure.” - Patrice Washington
“True wealth is not just in your bank account, but it’s also in your talents and your gifts and your wisdom that you leave here.” - Trent Shelton

Kayo Johnson: Make Your Voice Count
Thursday Aug 27, 2020
Thursday Aug 27, 2020
Let me ask you something a bit personal … Have you received your census questionnaire in the mail and have you completed it? Or are you like so many others who received their questionnaire and tossed it in the trash – along with all the reminders?
You see, when it comes to the census, many of us don’t think it’s important or we think it’s the government’s way of trying to invade our privacy, so we simply don’t complete it. Either that or we have the best of intentions to complete it, but can’t find the time to sit down and do it.
After sitting down with my friend Kayo Johnson – the Census Guy – I can tell you that any reason you have for not completing the census is wrong.
Here’s a reality check … There’s no information asked about immigration or citizenship. They don’t ask for your social security number or bank information. The census itself is very basic and takes anywhere from five to ten minutes to complete – that’s it.
I’ll be honest though, until I sat down with Kayo, I never truly knew how important the census was. I just did it to get it off my to-do list. But now, I realize how much power it has in determining what funding and programs our communities receive, and that’s huge, especially in underprivileged communities.
Join me as Kayo and I discuss the importance of the census and how it allows us to make sure our voice counts – past, present and future.
Make Your Voice Count Takeaways
The census isn’t just about funding, it’s about representation, too. – Kayo Johnson
It’s our job, our right and our responsibility to take care of our kids, our elders and ourselves – the census does all of these things at the same time. – Kayo Johnson
It’s important to see not only the value in our count, but also the value in our number. – Kayo Johnson
The census doesn’t only just secure the future for our children, it also ensures that our past is maintained. – Kayo Johnson
Imagine what 10 minutes can do for 10 years. How do you not have time to fill it out? – Kayo Johnson
Do you have 10 minutes? Use it to complete the census and shift the next ten years of your life and community. I know you may think, “But I’m just one person or one household, does it really matter?” It does, especially when you think about all the funding opportunities your community could be missing out on.
In the comments below, let us know you’ve completed your census.

Lynn Richardson: Paycheck to Monday
Thursday Aug 13, 2020
Thursday Aug 13, 2020
Are you one of those people who lives paycheck to paycheck? Or worse, paycheck to Monday, where you get paid on Friday and by Monday it’s already gone?
Do your spending habits cause you to spend more money than you make?
Are you ashamed to show your bank statement to your children?
If you’re answering yes to any of these questions, then today’s episode is one you don’t want to miss.
Before her success as a financial coach, Lynn Richardson – author, entertainment executive and celebrity financial coach – was living the paycheck to Monday routine, even though she was making five to six figures every month. Yes, you heard it right – on a monthly basis Lynn was making what most people make in a year, and she was still broke.
Fortunately, she recognized she had a problem and set out to fix it. As she says, “It didn’t matter how much money I made, which is why you can’t really trade time for money. More money doesn’t solve a money problem. If it did, millionaires and billionaires wouldn’t go bankrupt.”
In today’s episode, Lynn shares more of her personal money story and how it’s gotten her to where she is now. We’re also talking about her new book, Dynasty: A Guide to Building and Creating Generational Wealth, and how she’s working harder than ever to help others face their money issues and achieve personal, professional and spiritual harmony.
