3 Deaths in 3 Months and How I’m Processing
Thursday Jun 13, 2024
Thursday Jun 13, 2024
Today, I need to take a step away from our usual content to share something deeply personal. Over the last three months, I have experienced the loss of three incredible people who have had a profound impact on my life. Without them, there would not be a Patrice Washington as you know me today. These individuals have shaped who I am and have been instrumental in my journey and in the creation of Redefining Wealth. My heart is heavy, and I find it impossible to sit down and continue business as usual. This episode is my way of honoring and respecting these three amazing souls. I could push through and pretend everything is fine, but that wouldn’t be genuine or authentic. It wouldn’t be right. These people have meant so much to me, and their absence has left a significant void. I need to take this time to grieve and to process these losses fully. Show Notes:[5:15] - It is okay to feel your feelings.[7:18] - When people have impacted you so greatly, there’s no “taking a day or two.”[10:18] - I lost someone who has been instrumental in my life.[16:11] - I lost someone who was such a safe space.[20:34] - I lost someone who I modeled my own parenting after.Links and Resources:Scaling Joy Retreat 2025 SurveyWork with Patrice 1:1Redefining Wealth AppThe Institute of Redefining WealthPatrice Washington on InstagramRedefining Wealth Live

How to Spot Scarcity Mindset in Your Decision Making and Transform It to Abundance
Thursday Jun 06, 2024
Thursday Jun 06, 2024
Hey Purpose Chasers, welcome to today's episode! We’re diving into something really important today: the scarcity mindset. This is what makes us feel like we constantly need to do more to secure our future, always worrying there won’t be enough. If you've ever thought something was too good to be true, you might be dealing with a scarcity mindset. We’re going to talk about how to spot it in your daily life and decisions and, more importantly, how to transform it into an abundance mindset.I’ve been working closely with a lot of women in one-on-one mentorship sessions, and let me tell you, a scarcity mindset is a common struggle, no matter the income level. It’s not just about money—it can affect how we see time and opportunities too. Even if you’re earning well, this mindset can creep in. I know from personal experience that despite all the income, coaching, and personal growth I’ve achieved, I still sometimes fall into moments of scarcity. So, trust me, this episode is for everyone.Scarcity mindset can be really subtle. It’s not just about being afraid of not having enough money; it can make you feel like there’s never enough time or opportunities. This mindset can stop you from showing up authentically and powerfully in every aspect of your life. In this episode, we’ll be taking a look at each pillar and the symptoms of a scarcity mindset in each. And if you are experiencing these signs in one pillar, odds are you’re experiencing them in others, too.Be sure to listen to the end for an exercise that you can do right now to really assess how your mindset could mean you are living in scarcity.Show Notes:[7:46] - A scarcity mindset shows up in the FIT Pillar as negative self-talk and as neglecting self care.[11:06] - In the PEOPLE Pillar, a scarcity mindset shows up often as comparing yourself to others.[12:29] - If you lean into the scarcity mindset, you won’t show up authentically, consistently, and powerfully.[16:54] - Hoarding is one of the ways scarcity mindset shows up in the SPACE Pillar.[18:59] - A fear of missing out is a sign in the FAITH Pillar.[20:28] - In the WORK Pillar, the evidence is in overworking and perfectionism.[24:01] - There are a lot of signs of scarcity mindset in the MONEY Pillar.[26:33] - Where might you be showing up in scarcity?Links and Resources:Work with Patrice 1:1Redefining Wealth AppThe Institute of Redefining WealthPatrice Washington on InstagramRedefining Wealth Live

Wisdom Point #15 - Are You Ready to Break Up with Scarcity?
Tuesday Jun 04, 2024
Tuesday Jun 04, 2024
Welcome to this quick yet powerful Wisdom Point, with our theme this month of "Abundance Is Yours." Today, I want to get a bit personal with you. With all the change and uncertainty in the last few years, I had a revelation just a few days ago: the survival mindset that supported me in some of my toughest moments does not and cannot serve me in these current moments of turbulence. I know many people are in this same situation, so in today's episode, we'll dive into the difference between scarcity and abundance. They are literally opposites and it is important to remember that we don't get what we want; we get what we believe. I'll share an exercise I recently did that helped me reflect on how scarcity has been impacting me. It is a simple activity that will really have a lasting effect. Recognizing that we were programmed for scarcity is the first step. Now, we choose to thrive. Let's break up with scarcity and welcome abundance into our lives!Show Notes:[3:18] - We may have been programmed for scarcity, but this current version wants to thrive.[4:12] - Abundance means plentiful. It means to have more than you need.[5:59] - We don’t get what we want; we get what we believe.[8:23] - The uncertainty of the last few years conjured up a past version of myself who did not operate from a place of abundance.[10:24] - Write a letter to a past version of yourself.[13:31] - This is a journey. There is no final destination. We are all in this together.Links and Resources:Work with Patrice 1:1Redefining Wealth AppThe Institute of Redefining WealthPatrice Washington on InstagramRedefining Wealth Live

These markers motivate us and they are often times of brokenness.[30:58] - What beliefs, behaviors, people, and possessions are you willing to release?[33:58] - You can’t force yourself to try to fix something. You need to let go of the things that are no longer serving you in this season.[37:41] - Do not demonize previous versions of yourself. Without that person, you would not be.[39:19] - We tend to have a hard time asking for help. But when we do ask, we think we are asking from a place of weakness.Links and Resources:Redefining Wealth AppThe Institute of Redefining WealthPatrice Washington on InstagramRedefining Wealth LiveSheri Riley’s InstagramSheriRiley.comThe Value of Being Present Full Episode with Sheri Riley

Why I Gave Up $1 Million in Revenue Last Year
Thursday May 16, 2024
Thursday May 16, 2024
Today, I'm diving into a story that's been weighing on my heart for quite some time. It's about a decision I made—a decision that led me to give up a staggering $1 million in revenue last year. Now, you might be wondering why anyone in their right mind would walk away from such a substantial sum, and I get it. Trust me, it wasn't an easy choice. But as we've been exploring the evolution of purpose in this season, I've come to realize just how crucial the WORK Pillar is.This isn't just some abstract concept—I'm sharing my own journey, my own struggles, and ultimately, my own growth. From leaning into the pillars to putting everything through an "Authentic Alignment Audit," I'll walk you through the process of making peace with the decision to let go. And let me tell you, doing something with more ease doesn't mean it's easy. But sometimes, in order to step into our true purpose, we have to be willing to let go of what no longer serves us. So, join me as I unravel the story behind why I gave up $1 million in revenue, and discover what incredible transformations came out of this monumental decision. Show Notes:[7:53] - Why would someone choose to stop something that works?[10:15] - When we get a download and take action to make it happen, that is amazing. But what if you are told to do nothing?[14:04] - I put everything through an “Authentic Alignment Audit” and some things were not fitting. I was on autopilot.[16:14] - You have to make peace with the process.[21:30] - You have to be radically honest with yourself.[23:18] - Hearing and doing are two different things. Knowing and owning are two different things.[26:27] - What are you willing to lose? Knowing this allows you to release the attachment to the outcome and frees you to make authentic choices.[31:54] - I now understand that I don’t care how huge my audience is. I just want to serve the people I’ve been assigned to.[35:16] - Things that are right for us in this season might not be aligned in other seasons.Links and Resources:Redefining Wealth AppThe Institute of Redefining WealthPatrice Washington on InstagramRedefining Wealth Live3 Numbers to Change Your Financial Life
