Jazlyn Denise: The Prayer Playbook
Thursday Sep 24, 2020
Thursday Sep 24, 2020
This is the last episode in our “Faith Works” series and before we head into the last quarter of 2020, I wanted to set you up with a solid foundation. The Faith Pillar has contributed to so much of my success, and I know that if you take the time to develop your faith pillar, you will achieve success as well. Today’s guest takes Faith to a new level and chooses to redefine her life through prayer.
A Professional Prayer Coach, Public Speaker, and Author of The Prayer Playbook, Jazlyn Denise not only redefines wealth, but lives out her purpose in all areas of her life. Through her personal experiences of adolescent pregnancy and single motherhood, Jazlyn redefines stereotypes and has overcome her challenges by building up her prayer life.
What started as a personal journey and a prayer for clarity, has since transitioned Jazlyn into her calling to help others transform spiritually, personally, and professionally.
She believes that life and death is in the power of the tongue and if the enemy can keep you silent, he can also keep you bound.

Anniversary Episode: My Prayer For You
Thursday Sep 10, 2020
Thursday Sep 10, 2020
Today we celebrate three amazing years here at Redefining Wealth! We launched this podcast on September 14, 2017, and now, 165 episodes later, we continue in our mission to teach this generation that wealth is not merely about money or material possessions, but that wealth is truly the condition of well-being.
Three years ago, I had no idea we would be where we are today and I am so grateful and humbled that you have chosen to join me on this purpose chasing journey. My word for this year has been obedience, and I accept that with influence comes responsibility. So, while I was contemplating my plans to celebrate this anniversary episode, I felt God leading me to pray for Purpose Chasers.
I consider myself to be spirit-led and I know that any measure of success that you believe I have has come from my prayer life. My confidence, discipline, and the clarity that I share is not out of my own strength, but the time that I commit to prayer. I pray for you all of the time, but today you will audibly hear me do it, as this anniversary episode is dedicated to you.
Whether you are a believer or not, I ask that you open your heart and mind to accept the words I have to share with you in prayer. I pray that you can receive my heart and that you understand the gratitude I have for you joining me this far.

Trent Shelton: Running From Reality
Thursday Sep 03, 2020
Thursday Sep 03, 2020
It’s our Anniversary Eve episode! Next week will be our three year anniversary here at Redefining Wealth, which means we are celebrating three years of teaching you that wealth is so much more than money and material possessions.
Here in this community, we believe in the original definition of wealth – the condition of well being. In order for us to achieve overall well-being, we first need to acknowledge our current reality and stop suppressing past shame and pain. A man who does this well is Trent Shelton, a father, transformational speaker and former NFL wide receiver.
He is the poster child for turning pain into purpose and he is truly living a genuine and authentic life. He says, “it’s time to stop running from reality”. Sharing with us his devastating journey in the NFL, Trent teaches us how to tackle our trials and stop suppression from leading to depression.
When we pursue purpose, sometimes our plans are not God’s plans. This is exactly what Trent discovered as God led him away from what he thought was his purpose (football), into what God truly had planned for him (speaking). For this reason, Trent believes “purpose is the wealthiest thing we can have”, and it’s no coincidence that our motto here at Redefining Wealth is to “chase purpose, not money”.
Learning this lesson early on changed my life and I invite you to join us as we go further into this conversation and closer to our ideal lifestyle of wealth and well being. I believe Trent Shelton is one of the most prolific inspirational speakers of our time and I can’t wait for you to hear what he shares in today’s episode.
This episode is brought to you by Command the Stage, A 2-Day Intimate Training Created for the Next Generation of Transformational Speakers Who Desire to Confidently Communicate the Message they’ve Been Called to Share with the Masses.

Running From Reality Takeaways

“When the purpose is big enough, the struggle or any fear will never be great enough.” - Trent Shelton
“I have a purpose greater than the pain I experienced.” - Trent Shelton
“Oftentimes, our plans have to fail so God’s purpose in our life can prevail.” - Trent Shelton
“Never let people place their impossibilities on your life.” - Trent Shelton
“Faith isn’t believing because you see it, it’s believing it because you know God has called you to do it.” - Trent Shelton
“Never feel guilty for cutting someone off when they handed you the scissors.” - Trent Shelton
“I don’t ever want to be a public success and private failure.” - Patrice Washington
“True wealth is not just in your bank account, but it’s also in your talents and your gifts and your wisdom that you leave here.” - Trent Shelton
“Purpose is the wealthiest thing we can have.” - Trent Shelton

Kayo Johnson: Make Your Voice Count
Thursday Aug 27, 2020
Thursday Aug 27, 2020
Let me ask you something a bit personal … Have you received your census questionnaire in the mail and have you completed it? Or are you like so many others who received their questionnaire and tossed it in the trash – along with all the reminders?
You see, when it comes to the census, many of us don’t think it’s important or we think it’s the government’s way of trying to invade our privacy, so we simply don’t complete it. Either that or we have the best of intentions to complete it, but can’t find the time to sit down and do it.
After sitting down with my friend Kayo Johnson – the Census Guy – I can tell you that any reason you have for not completing the census is wrong.
Here’s a reality check … There’s no information asked about immigration or citizenship. They don’t ask for your social security number or bank information. The census itself is very basic and takes anywhere from five to ten minutes to complete – that’s it.
I’ll be honest though, until I sat down with Kayo, I never truly knew how important the census was. I just did it to get it off my to-do list. But now, I realize how much power it has in determining what funding and programs our communities receive, and that’s huge, especially in underprivileged communities.
Join me as Kayo and I discuss the importance of the census and how it allows us to make sure our voice counts – past, present and future.
Make Your Voice Count Takeaways
The census isn’t just about funding, it’s about representation, too. – Kayo Johnson
It’s our job, our right and our responsibility to take care of our kids, our elders and ourselves – the census does all of these things at the same time. – Kayo Johnson
It’s important to see not only the value in our count, but also the value in our number. – Kayo Johnson
The census doesn’t only just secure the future for our children, it also ensures that our past is maintained. – Kayo Johnson
Imagine what 10 minutes can do for 10 years. How do you not have time to fill it out? – Kayo Johnson
Do you have 10 minutes? Use it to complete the census and shift the next ten years of your life and community. I know you may think, “But I’m just one person or one household, does it really matter?” It does, especially when you think about all the funding opportunities your community could be missing out on.
In the comments below, let us know you’ve completed your census.

Lynn Richardson: Paycheck to Monday
Thursday Aug 13, 2020
Thursday Aug 13, 2020
Are you one of those people who lives paycheck to paycheck? Or worse, paycheck to Monday, where you get paid on Friday and by Monday it’s already gone?
Do your spending habits cause you to spend more money than you make?
Are you ashamed to show your bank statement to your children?
If you’re answering yes to any of these questions, then today’s episode is one you don’t want to miss.
Before her success as a financial coach, Lynn Richardson – author, entertainment executive and celebrity financial coach – was living the paycheck to Monday routine, even though she was making five to six figures every month. Yes, you heard it right – on a monthly basis Lynn was making what most people make in a year, and she was still broke.
Fortunately, she recognized she had a problem and set out to fix it. As she says, “It didn’t matter how much money I made, which is why you can’t really trade time for money. More money doesn’t solve a money problem. If it did, millionaires and billionaires wouldn’t go bankrupt.”
In today’s episode, Lynn shares more of her personal money story and how it’s gotten her to where she is now. We’re also talking about her new book, Dynasty: A Guide to Building and Creating Generational Wealth, and how she’s working harder than ever to help others face their money issues and achieve personal, professional and spiritual harmony.
This episode is brought to you by our complimentary Purpose Chasers community. Want to share your aha moments with a group of like-minded purpose chasers from all over the world? Visit iamapurposechaser.com and join NOW.
Creating Dynasty Takeaways

You can have peace during the storm when you honor the laws of order. – Lynn Richardson
People talk about the enemy, but it’s usually the inner-me, and if we can get the inner-me in check, we can keep the enemy off of our backs. – Lynn Richardson
If you have a dream, you have to speak what you seek until you see what you say. – Lynn Richardson
I can’t coach and coddle. – Patrice Washington
God said, “You only want to serve how you want to serve, which means you’re not serving.” – Lynn Richardson
Needing nothing is when you actually attract everything. – Lynn Richardson
Everybody knows how to spend less money when they have none. That’s not the challenge. The challenge is to have money and learn not to spend it. – Lynn Richardson
If you can’t show your child your bank statement, then it’s out of order. – Lynn Richardson
If you have more money than you can handle, it no longer has the power that you think. – Lynn Richardson
Energy is like money in the bank, once you spend it, it’s gone. – Lynn Richardson
When it comes to money, where are your pitfalls? What can you do better? Could you save more and spend less? Could you charge more for your time? Could you build assets that make money without you having to give up your time and energy?
Let us know in the comments below how you plan to improve your money situation. And remember, if you want to get your money straight, you’ve got to forget what people think – this is about YOU and your money.

Rewind: People Want to Support You
Thursday Jul 30, 2020
Thursday Jul 30, 2020
Are you taking “how you show up in the world” for granted, especially when it’s time to get the support you desire?
Are you clear on how people can support you?
Are you praying for support, but then too prideful to vocalize you need help?
Are you allowing your irrational fears to turn you into an irresponsible steward?
If you’re nodding your head YES right now, I want you to know this:
There are people out there who want to support you, but they don’t understand how to do so.
Let’s take me, for example. Whenever people would ask what I needed, I’d respond with a generic answer or entirely turn down the offer of help. Now, that wasn’t because I didn’t need or want support.
You see, I was turning people away because I’d never taken the time to sit down and draft how people could support me.
Then it hit me … what if God wants to answer our silent prayers, but He’s waiting on us to use our voice and say we need help?
And what if our irrational fears are making us irresponsible stewards of the gifts He has blessed us with?
That’s profound, right? Well, in today’s episode, I go even deeper as I tackle each of these questions and unpack how I’ve addressed them. I’ll also explore the importance of shifting “how you show up in the world” so you get the support you want and need.

Rewind: How to Walk in Expectancy
Thursday Jul 23, 2020
Thursday Jul 23, 2020
Do you know the difference between expectation and expectancy? For many people, these two words are interchangeable.
Expectation means you have a strong belief that something will happen or be the case in the future. This is what we anticipate, what we desire, what we wish for. Expectancy is a feeling something is going to happen – it’s the feeling you have when you’re expecting something.
For me, the difference between expectation and expectancy is action, and walking in expectancy is about actively doing something to move forward. It’s the action that then gives God something to bless, because as I’ve said before, God knows what you’re waiting on when he sees what you’re working on.
So, for instance, if you say you want to be a New York Times bestselling author but you have yet to sit down and write a word, how do you think that’s going to happen?
In today’s episode, we’re going to go further into this idea of walking in expectancy and how you have to actively do something in order to move closer to the thing you desire.

Walking in expectancy is about trusting that no matter what happens, everything is working together for my good. – Patrice Washington
God knows what you’re waiting on when He sees what you’re working on. – Patrice Washington
Walking in expectancy means confidently looking for favor at every turn. – Patrice Washington
Your journey can’t only be about what you want, it has to also be about who you want to become in the process. – Patrice Washington
For me, I thank God for the many expectations I had that didn’t go as planned because the way I’ve been stretched and the lessons I’ve learned and the people I’ve met have been some of the biggest blessings of my life.
Now, I’d love to hear from you. What expectations have you had that didn’t go as planned and what did you learn from them? Have they helped shape who you are today? And what about expectancy? Are you actively walking in expectancy? Let us know in the comments below.
