Imagine achieving the height of success corporately, only to realize that you’re the only one in the room who looks like you. This was the case for Marty McDonald.
After an 11-year corporate career with various fortune 500 companies, Marty McDonald decided to leap after her dreams and create a community of empowerment, change, and freedom. Although the money was great and the status was admirable, Marty couldn’t help but feel a sense of loneliness and a deep desire to create a space where women of color are empowered to thrive!
Taking an idea based on connection and turning it into a movement, including a multi-city Black Girl Magic Tour, Marty launched the annual Boss Woman of the Year Summit and built a loyal community of more than 100,000 women.
Marty understands that most women are allowing fear to hold them back from accomplishing the goals they desperately desire. Her plan to expand the growth of her community is well under way as she helps Boss Women around the world empower one another through connection, networking, and workshops.
